LOCATION: Fiordland, South Island, New Zealand
Flying in an open-door helicopter over Fiordland in early morning, the sights came as if on a conveyor belt. It was hard to choose, but choose I must before they were left far astern. Until you try to frame images, it is difficult to understand just how fast a helicopter moves.
This small body of water sitting at the base of these craggy rocks caught my attention. I could see that It acted as an initial collection point for runoff before, in turn, feeding water off downhill to form streams & eventually a river.
I have no real idea as to where the water from this tarn meets the sea, but it was great to view the catchment area & witness the birth.
