LOCATION: Flinders Ranges, South Australia, Australia
On the occasion of this shoot, I was with a group of photographers who had been somewhat reluctant to abandon the warmth of their accommodation for the stormy outdoors.
Our intended location was the remains of an old stone cottage built by the early settlers who had attempted to farm the grass-less land.
As we arrived, the rain stopped & the weather partially cleared. 8 eager photographers quickly cleared the van & rushed to capture the remains of the structure.
Behind them, the storm activity continued unabated & for a period I had it all to myself. Swirling clouds & a myriad of colours dominated the sky. It was fascinating to watch & photograph.
And in the midst of all this natural beauty & wonder was this road, a road which could take me somewhere else – if only I had wanted to go.
